Visual
Systems
Eyelights stimulate the receptors of your non-dominant
or weaker eye, allowing greater visual acuity and
increased depth perception, resulting in a sharper,
clearer image. This will allow you to not only see
the ball more clearly, but have greater perception
of its true location.
Hip
and Shoulder Turn
Light stimulation to the weaker eye will create an
increase in tone to the paraspinal muscles (stabilization
muscles of your spine) on the same side of your back,
allowing for greater recruitment pattern. A stronger
hip and shoulder turn will result in increased bat
speed. This allows you to not only hit the ball further,
but also prevent injury. Disc herniations and muscle
and ligament tears are a result of inequality of supporting
structures of your back. Eyelights promote bilateral
(both sides) equality of the paraspinal muscles of
the back.
Pitching
Stimulation of both hemispheres of the brain will
cause a global improvement to strength and power.
This will allow you to throw the ball faster, with
more accuracy, and reduce the risk of injury. Pitcher's
use their entire body to throw the ball, so by using
the Eyelights to promote core stability, you will
greatly reduce the chance of injury to the rotator
cuff or elbow.
Fielding
Light stimulation to the weaker eye will create an
increase in visual acuity. Therefore, as a fielder,
you will see the ball more clearly, and have more
time to execute a play. You will be able to see the
ball leave the bat, allowing for a faster reaction
time. Eyelights will increase your spinal stability,
improving balance and coordination. This will create
more awareness in space, which is crucial in difficult
fielding positions.
